Me

Ashley is working towards a Masters in Healthcare Law from the University of Oklahoma and possesses a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Pharmacology from the University of Michigan. With a strong foundation in healthcare and legal expertise, she has dedicated her career to improving patient outcomes and advocating for effective healthcare policies. Ashley’s passion for healthcare was deeply influenced by her mother’s battle with leukemia, which led her to focus on groundbreaking treatments like Gleevec during clinical trials with Dr. Moshe Talpaz at the University of Michigan.
Currently serving as the President of the University of Michigan Alumni Association Phoenix Chapter, Ashley’s involvement in the organization was initially sparked by her boyfriend, Nate, who encouraged her to contribute to the alumni community. Her leadership in this role reflects her commitment to building strong networks and fostering community and alumni engagement.

Outside of work, Ashley is an avid sailor, racing on Lake Pleasant in Arizona, Seattle, Charleston & The Great Lakes.

My “Why”: The University of Michigan holds a deeply personal and transformative significance in my life. As a proud alumna, my time at Michigan not only shaped my academic and professional journey but also inspired my dedication to healthcare and patient advocacy. It was here that I had the unique opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research, observing clinical trials with Dr. Moshe Talpaz, particularly focusing on treatments like Gleevec, which aimed to bring hope to patients battling diseases like leukemia—the same illness that profoundly affected my family. This experience ignited my passion for making a difference in healthcare and using my expertise to support innovations that improve patient outcomes.

Beyond academics, the sense of community and tradition that thrives at Michigan is unparalleled. The friendships and connections I’ve made through the Michigan network continue to inspire and support me both personally and professionally. Now, as the new president of the University of Michigan Alumni Association’s Phoenix Chapter, I am honored to give back to the Michigan community, helping foster engagement and connection for fellow alumni.

Choosing Michigan was not just a decision about where to study—it was a choice to be part of a legacy of excellence, innovation, and service. The values that Michigan instilled in me continue to guide my work and leadership today, and I am proud to be part of the Maize and Blue family.
