University of Michigan Club of Milwaukee 20th Annual Student Send-off BBQ, Friday, August 2nd, 2019, 6pm

The University of Michigan Club of Milwaukee is hosting our annual new student barbecue to welcome our new members of the Michigan family. We hope you can join us!!

Food and beverages are provided and the dress is casual. Past years’ events have been great fun and have proven to be an excellent opportunity to have local Alumni meet entering students from the area.


Steve Marcus, Chairman of the Board of The Marcus Corporation Speaking Engagement, Tuesday, June 3rd, 2014, 5:30pm

We are excited to have Steve Marcus, Chairman of the Board of The Marcus Corporation, as our guest speaker. Steve, who got his law degree from the University of Michigan, has generously offered to host the event and is providing beverages and hors d’oeuvres. He will talk about his illustrious career, his time in law school at the U-M, and other insights into his life and business acumen. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from one of Milwaukee’s most prominent, successful and truly special leaders (he personifies the “leader and best” University of Michigan slogan!).

The Marcus Corporation is a publicly held company headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The company operates two principal divisions: Marcus Theatres and Marcus Hotels and Resorts. Marcus Theaters is the fifth largest theater circuit in the U.S. and currently owns or manages 685 screens at 55 locations in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and Ohio. The company’s lodging division owns and/or manages 18 hotels, resorts and other properties in 10 states, including The Pfister Hotel, Hilton Milwaukee City Center and Intercontinental Hotel here in Milwaukee.

We will host a networking happy hour event (cash bar) following the speaking engagement at Blu in the Pfister.


Spring Wine Tasting, Friday, April 25th, 2014, 6pm

Although it hasn’t felt like it – Spring is here and with it, our annual wine tasting! Please come and enjoy a selection of wines along with delicious hors d’oeuvres with fellow members of your Milwaukee Club. The wine tasting will start at 6pm on Friday, April 25th at the home of Doris and Ed Heiser. Our wine tour guide will be Jennifer Harb from Capitol-Husting who will showcase a selection of wines from the United States. We will review 3 whites and 3 reds, and will have booklets for tasting notes and pairing suggestions.

The cost of the event is $20 per person for non-Alumni Association attendees and a discounted price of $15 per person for Alumni Association members. For those not sampling wines but still attending, the cost will be $7 per person. Viewing of Lend Me a Tenor, Wednesday, April 16th, 2014, 7:30pm

We are putting together a fun evening at the Skylight Theater to see one of our own, Michigan grad Linda Loving, perform as Julia (one of the lead roles) in the very enjoyable play Lend Me A Tenor.

A classic farce with action-packed comedy and lots of broad appeal! The cost of tickets is $35, but if we get a group of 10 or more, the cost is $27 a ticket. We have reserved a block of tickets and I hope we can have big group to support our enthusiastic fellow alum Linda—who is very talented and will make each of you proud once again of your U-M degree.


Milwaukee Art Museum Docent-Led Tour, Sunday, April 6th, 2014, 3pm

Please join us for a Docent-led tour of the Milwaukee Art Museum’s exhibition of “Uncommon Folk: Traditions in American Art” on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 3pm.

The “Uncommon Folk: Traditions in American Art” exhibit features an unprecedented collection of American paintings, drawings, sculptures, textiles, photographs, furniture and decorative arts. These pieces are all part of the Milwaukee Art Museum’s world-class collection of folk and self-taught arts. In the 19th and 20th centuries, American art was searching for its own voice separate from the classical European-style which dominated the art world.

ollowing the tour, members of the alumni group are invited to gather at the Milwaukee Ale House for an early, Dutch treat supper. Let us know if you’d like to join! Meet inside the main entrance of Milwaukee Art Museum. $5 per person.


Michigan vs. Kentucky Watch Party, Sunday, March 30th, 2014, 4pm

What a wild ride the Sweet 16 was! Come join the Alumni Club as we watch our Michigan Wolverines take on the Kentucky Wildcats this Sunday, March 30 at 4pm in the Elite Eight!

We will gather again at G-Daddy’s BBC Bar & Grill in Milwaukee’s East Side, 2022 E. North Ave (corner of North and Farwell). When you enter BBC’smain entrance, walk past the left side of the bar to the far corner near the kitchen. We have this section reserved for us with bothpicture and sound. Please note thatBBC’sisa 21+ establishment.

We’ll have watch parties for all U-M NCAA games at BBC’s.


Book Club – “Maze in Blue” by Michigan alumna Debra Goldstein, Wednesday, March 26th, 2014, 6pm

Private Painting Event at Splash Studio, Sunday, March 9th, 2014, 12:30pm

Don’t miss our upcoming March event: Painting at Splash Studio in the Historic Third Ward in Milwaukee! Come join your fellow alumni onSunday, March 9 from 12:30-3:30pm for a private painting session led by a local artist. We will each be painting a custom, one of a kind painting of University of Michigan’s Diag featuring the Grad Library!

The cost of this event is $20 per person. The cost will cover a private three hour painting session exclusively for the Michigan Alumni Club. A cash bar will also be available. Newly Admitted Student Meet and Greet, Sunday, March 2, 2014, 3pm

Please join us for the annual meet and greet with newly admitted students to the University of Michigan. The students are still evaluating whether to attend the University of Michigan so this is a great opportunity to share all of your wonderful U-M experiences with these future wolverines.


Michigan vs. Michigan State Basketball Watch Party, Sunday, February, 23, 2014 11am

On our quest to clinch the title BIG TEN CHAMPION title we’ll be facing the Michigan State Spartans this coming Sunday.

On Sunday, February 23rd at 11am CT, Michigan will take on Michigan State and we will host a watch party at BBC located on Milwaukee’s East Side 2022 E. North Ave (corner of North and Farwell). When you enter BBC’s walk past the left side of the bar to the far corner near the kitchen. We have this section reserved for us with both picture and sound. Look for tables marked as reserved for Michigan Alumni.

Feel free to bring your friends, this is going to be the game you don’t want to miss! Please note that BBC’s is a 21+ establishment.
