Graduating in 2022, Alexandra earned a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan’s College of Engineering. Now working in reliability and maintainability engineering, her career is centered around a dedication to quality and bettering not only today’s society but that of the future. Her love of learning, building better, and caring for her community is genetic, sparked by her parents, and alumni themselves, and reflected in her brother’s journey into his own, nursing career. Family, friends, and furthering the good in her home and beyond are what get her out of bed every day.
Currently, Alexandra serves as the Events Chair and Coordinator for the Phoenix Chapter of the University of Michigan Alumni Association. She’s cheered on the Wolverines since she could sing Victors, involved in volunteering and events hosted by the Tampa Chapter of the Alumni Association before and while enrolled at the university. While attending Michigan, she honed her team mindset and resilience with the best, putting both to the test as a member of the Novice and then Varsity Rowing team. What carried her then is what carries her now: a love and loyalty to the team, and a desire to strive for better with an enthusiasm – and optimism – unknown to mankind.
Beyond the alumni club and her career, Alexandra enjoys embracing the outdoors and seeking out her next adventure. Traveling across the country as time allows, going on new hikes, trying new sports, writing, and meeting new people are just some of the ways that she stays positive and finds joy all around her. It is her firmest opinion that this world and its people are beautiful, and she searches for that innate goodness in all and everyone she has the pleasure of interacting with.
The “WHY” for Michigan came easy, and out of more than her parents’ obvious love for the school and the relationships they forged there. Michigan’s engineering program caught her eye, and the team unity unlike any other school’s sealed her decision. Alexandra believes in team perseverance and loyalty, even in the hardest of times. Seeing Michigan fans, students, and athletes alike band together through even the toughest of trials made it clear to her that the University of Michigan was the place, and the community, she wished to become a part of. Where else could she hone her mind and skills, as well as her strength and heart, surrounded by the best, brightest, and fiercest this nation has to offer? Where else could she broaden her ability to give back to the community and help build the “home away from home” all across the world that Wolverines create wherever they go?
The University of Michigan was not so much a choice, but a calling to challenge herself, no matter how many times she might stumble, fall, or fail. A calling to be a part of something bigger than herself, a team determined to achieve victories not just for today, but for the many tomorrows to come. Alexandra loves a challenge as much as she loves The Team, The Team, The Team, and all that we can accomplish together.
