Alumni Association Career Coaches Program Terms and Conditions

Thank you for using the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan (hereinafter referred to as “Alumni Association”) Career Coaches Program. The program is a way for alumni career coaches and professional development counselors to find work with other alumni who are looking to hire coaches. By using this platform, you agree to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). We may update the Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the services after the update will be deemed acceptance of the updated Terms. Access to and use of the program is available only to University of Michigan alumni, and by using the platform, you warrant that you are eligible.

Disclaimer

The Alumni Association does not endorse any coaches and is not responsible or liable for any content, data, advertising, products, goods, or services available from or through any participating coaches or alumni clients. The Alumni Association does not guarantee success or that coaches are covered by professional liability or other insurance.

Coaches are independent small business owners and not employees of the Alumni Association. The Alumni Association does not perform any of the coaching services requested by alumni clients via the program and does not employ any individuals to perform these coaching services. Alumni clients hereby acknowledge that the Alumni Association does not supervise, direct, control, or monitor coaches’ work and is not responsible for the coaches’ services in any manner. Both coaches and alumni clients are responsible for the information and content they provide. Coaches and alumni participate at their own risk.

The Alumni Association career coaches are solely responsible for their conduct on the platform and with clients. The Alumni Association makes no promise as to the accuracy, availability, or reliability of any coach or the materials or services rendered by coaches. Alumni should do their own research before accepting services offered via the platform.

For Coaches

As a Career Coach, you agree that the Alumni Association may share your services with alumni to facilitate business opportunities.

As a Coach, you acknowledge and agree that the Alumni Association is not responsible for the conduct of any alumni client, including but not limited to a Client’s communications, payment for services, or compliance with applicable laws or regulations. The Client, not the Alumni Association, is solely responsible for their interactions and payment for any services. By participating, you release the Alumni Association from all claims or liability related to your interactions or deals with Clients.

The Alumni Association will not monitor, control, or dictate in any other way how you, the Coach, perform your applicable service. The Alumni Association reserves the right at any time to remove you as a Coach from the program if it determines that your continued presence is not in the best interests of alumni or the Alumni Association. For example, if you do not provide services in a timely, courteous, and competent manner, you may be removed.

You may be granted limited rights to display the Alumni Association logo on your website to promote the discoverability of your products or services. Permission to use the Alumni Association logo does not imply any endorsement or sponsorship by the Alumni Association of the coaches’ products or services. The Alumni Association reserves the right to revoke our logo if a Coach violates any terms or conditions or is deemed by the Alumni Association as no longer qualified.

For Clients

When you, as an alumni Client, submit a request for proposals via the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan Career Coaches Program, you agree to the sharing of that request and related information with the Coaches. After submitting a request, you may receive proposals from Coaches based on the request. You agree that Coaches may contact you via the platform.

As a Client, you acknowledge and agree that the Alumni Association is not responsible for the conduct of any coach, including but not limited to the coaches’ availability, request for proposal responses, performance of services, completion of services, commitment to initial estimates or quotes, or compliance with applicable professional standards, laws, or regulations. The Coach, not the Alumni Association, is solely responsible for their interactions and provision of any services.

The Alumni Association may at any time remove you as a Client from its platform if it determines in its sole discretion that your continued presence is not in the best interests of alumni or the Alumni Association. For example, if you act in a manner that is not courteous and professional, or do not pay a Coach for services rendered, you may be removed.
