Take in the beauty of Traverse City and enjoy learning about its beer brewing industry. Enjoy daily rides of self-selected length to the picturesque Leelanau Peninsula. Sample wines, beers, and hard ciders of northern Michigan during brewery and winery visits. Spend a sunset overlooking Lake Michigan and visit the famous Sleeping Bear Dunes, a National Lakeshore.

Day 1: Arrival
This morning, arrive any time and check into the Park Place Hotel. An airport shuttle is included with hotel. The hotel is located in downtown Traverse City; shops, restaurants, and other activities are all within walking distance. Meet your Ride Leader and fit bikes in the evening between 4-6pm.

Day 2: Traverse City to Leland
Highlights: wine tasting, vineyard picnic, shopping, Sutton’s Bay, Leland Beaches.
Route options: 32 mile full route, 20 mile “full stop to shop,” and 50 mile extended route

Today, pedal the Leelanau Wine Trail. Taste the area’s wines and ciders. At lunchtime, enjoy a picnic overlooking the vineyards, finishing the day with your feet in Lake Michigan.

Dinner: The Wine Cellar at the Leland Lodge. Enjoy dinner as a group.

Day 3: Leland to Northport
Highlights: hard cider tasting, beach picnic, shopping, Idle Farms Cheese, Northport Beach
Route options: 42 mile full route, 20 mile “stop to shop,” and 50 mile extended route

Pedal through the rolling orchards as you make your way from Leland to Northport. Along the way, taste some of the area’s best ciders at Tandem Ciders and 45 North Winery. For lunch, you’ll enjoy a picnic on the beach with local cheeses. Your day will conclude with a relaxing beachside sunset.

Day 4: Leland to Glen Arbor
Highlights: rolling hills with orchard views, beach picnic, and beach time
Route options: 30 mile full route, 26 mile “stop to shop,” and 52 mile extended route

Cycle the coastline, journey past orchards, and finish on the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail as you bike through northern Michigan. Along the way, enjoy a lunchtime picnic at Good Harbor Beach. Two optional excursions also enrich the experience: a spa option at Spa Amira in the Homestead Hotel and a golf option at Manitou Passage Golf Club

Day 5: Glen Arbor
Highlights: Heritage Trail, time to explore the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, vista picnic, shopping
Route options: 28 mile full route, 22 mile “stop to shop,” and 45 mile extended route

Today, you’ll cycle around Glen Lake before exploring the magnificent Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes on the Heritage Trail. You’ll have time to relax to soak in the views overlooking Lake Michigan on Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive. Enjoy a scenic vista picnic lunch.

Dinner: Cafe Manitou at The Homestead. Enjoy dinner as a group.

Day 6: Glen Arbor to Traverse City
Highlights: rolling hills with orchard views, Traverse City brewery tour with lunch
Route options: 26 mile full route or 38 mile extended route

Cycle the rolling hills of northern Michigan enroute to Traverse City. Upon arrival, celebrate the trip with a brewery tour in downtown Traverse City. Sample Traverse City’s best beers, brewed from local ingredients and hops.

Day 7: Departure
This morning, check out of the hotel and return home. Flights are available from Traverse City’s airport.
