Day 1 – Depart gateway city

AHI FlexAir passengers depart for London, England. Please check your luggage from your gateway city to your arrival city. Your claim checks should have the following airport code: LHR.

Day 2 – London, England

Arrive at London Heathrow International Airport. Proceed through immigration to the baggage claim area and retrieve your luggage. After completing customs, AHI FlexAir passengers traveling on flights that qualify for the group arrival transfer and Land Program passengers who have purchased seats on the group transfer should exit the baggage claim area and proceed to the Arrivals Hall, where an AHI Travel representative will meet you.

Join your Travel Director for an orientation walk of the neighborhood around your hotel. The borough of Kensington and Chelsea is home to London’s most fashionable restaurants and shops, and your South Kensington location is what many consider to be the heart of London. The hotel, conveniently located near the Gloucester Road Underground Station, is also the perfect place to launch your daily excursions.

Day 3 – London

Enrichment: Black British Civil Rights.

Follow 2,000 years of fascinating history during an immersive panoramic tour. Day 4 – London

Discovery: Black Images in the National Gallery.

Join an expert to learn about works of art illustrating the Black presence in London from the 15th-19th centuries. The informative, engaging tour examines why the images are in the National Gallery and what the images mean to us today.

Discuss the highlights of your morning over lunch.

Discovery: Black History of Trafalgar Square.

Packed with galleries, historic buildings, statues and monuments, this public square also holds an overlooked history. Your guide discusses the links between Africa, India and Caribbean communities and why their stories remain untold.

Discovery: Hidden Black History in the British Museum.

Marvel at centuries-old collections featuring African artifacts and art. Learn about the history behind this stolen art and the forgotten African artists.

Day 6 – London

Discovery: St Pauls/Bank.

Take a guided walk through one of London’s oldest areas. Visit St Paul’s Cathedral, known for its splendid dome, and the Roman Amphitheatre discovered in 1988. Your guide shares facts about the Black presence in London and how these Black communities contributed to the city’s way of life and culture.

Discovery: Black Cultural Archives and Brixton.

This national heritage center features an unrivaled collection that documents the history, culture and presence of people of African and Caribbean descent in Britain. Enjoy a guided walk through Brixton, experiencing the colorful, buzzing arcades of Brixton Market.

Enjoy a lunch of regional flavors.

Discovery: An Evening of Jazz.

Ronnie Scott’s jazz club is one of Soho’s most popular venues. Join fellow travelers for dinner at the club, followed by a toe-tapping show.

Day 7 – London

Discovery: London, Sugar and Slavery at Docklands Museum.

Housed in a converted sugar warehouse, the Museum of London Docklands features the beguiling London, Sugar and Slavery exhibit. Browse the exhibits and learn how slavery has shaped London’s economy from the 17th century onward.

Attend an engaging discussion about London’s current political, economic and social status within the context of the city’s Black communities.

Free Time: Enjoy a free afternoon to have lunch and see more of the city on your own. Perhaps head to the Tower of London, Churchill’s War Rooms or the renowned Victoria & Albert Museum. Shopping enthusiasts can visit Harrods, Selfridges and Fortnum & Mason, which is also an excellent location for afternoon tea.

Tonight, celebrate your time together at a Farewell Reception in the hotel, followed by a Farewell Dinner.

Day 9 – Depart for gateway city
