Stay overnight in luxurious lodges and tented camps and spend your days exploring Kenya’s national parks and reserves, such as Lake Nakuru National Park and Maasai Mara National Reserve in the hopes of spotting the “Big 5” (endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, Cape buffalo, and lion). An expert naturalist will accompany you and help you look for those animals plus 95 other species of mammals, amphibians, and reptiles, plus over 400 different birds.
Visit the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, an organization dedicated to wildlife preservation and the economic growth and improvement of surrounding rural communities. It is home to the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, which also houses the only two remaining northern white rhinos in the world.

I received a PhD from Stanford in 2000. Since then, I’ve taught in California, Tennessee, Copenhagen, Vermont, and now the University of Michigan. My research focuses on the causes and consequences of changes in biodiversity. in particular, we focus on interactions among species, including between humans and wildlife.
