Meet Lori Ploutz-Snyder!
Lori has been the Dean of the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology for five years. She came to Ann Arbor from Houston, Texas, where she served as NASA’s lead scientist for exercise physiology and countermeasures at the Johnson Space Center. Her role with NASA included research, operational spaceflight support, and the development of exercise programs to support astronaut health during missions on the International Space Station (ISS). The ISS is a model for successful international collaborations and Lori has extensive experience working with her counterparts in the European Space Agency and the Russian Space Agency. She is eager to share her experiences with the science and spaceflight cultures of Russia and Europe, as well as NASA’s many connections to U-M.
