A team of researchers led by researchers Fabian Pfeffer and Kathy Velikov at the University of Michigan’s Stone Center for Inequality Dynamics created two videos using social science and artistic tools to visualize social inequality in the United States. The first video aims to highlight the extreme wealth inequality in the country and offers a bold proposal for redistributing the wealth above the billion-dollar line to lift the bottom third of households out of poverty. The videos aim to help viewers understand the depth of the chasm created by inequality and encourage debate on possible solutions. The team hopes to create a vision of a different kind of world that could exist with more equality in wealth and housing.
