Title 42 was implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic under the Trump administration with the ambition of restricting the entry of migrants into the United States in hopes of protecting the country from the spread of disease. With the effectiveness of the plan questionable at best, it leads many to argue for/against its continuation. This faculty Q&A is led by Ann Chic Lin, an associate professor of public policy, who discusses the policy and its racial optics.
