Andrew Brouwer, assistant research scientist at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and his team researched the importance of testing for COVID-19 of those who have died. The research team believes that this kind of testing could act as an early outbreak warning sign, especially in urban areas. The research also highlighted the racial disparities in those who tested positive for COVID-19.
