Aaron Ridley and Mark Moldwin, U-M faculty researchers, discuss their role in NASA’s Geospace Dynamics Constellation mission. This mission will look at the protective outer layer of Earth’s atmosphere, observing how it interacts with solar weather as it can cause damage to power grids and satellites. The faculty experts note that it can cause coronal mass ejections, solar wind, and flares. Ridley and Moldwin further highlight their role and research regarding this mission.
