A new study from U-M found that researching the environmental transmission of pathogens in soil and water may improve our knowledge of pathogen spread. Scientists often study water and sanitation interventions to limit the transmission of pathogens and disease preventions. Leon Espira, a doctoral candidate at the U-M School of Public Health, talks about his time in Myanmar studying water quality dimensions.
