Sexual harassment is quite prevalent among residents and can often be traced back to patients and their families, but residents are not reporting what’s going on because of possible consequences that can follow. Elizabeth Viglianti, M.D., MPH, M.Sc., who serves as an assistant professor of internal medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School, and a team organized a survey to understand better and shed light on the issue of sexual harassment and the lack of reporting for medical residents.
