The U-M School of Public Health explores a new initiative with the state of Michigan to enhance school safety and prevent school shootings. Evidence-based practices will be the main use and priority, providing over 1 million students with a higher level of safety. Justin Heinze, associate professor of Health Behavior and Health Education, discusses the increase in school shootings in the US, the highest recorded in 3 years.
