September Jobs Report: While Slowing, Employment Growth Remains Strong

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the labor market has fully recovered the total number of jobs lost during the pandemic. This recovery, however, masks differences across sectors. Betsey Stevenson, an economist at the Ford School of Public Policy, suggests that recent job growth came from industries that drove job growth before the pandemic but are now struggling.
