New research from Michigan Engineering sheds light on tissue regeneration after traumatic muscle-loss injuries. Carlos Aguilar, an assistant professor of biomedical engineering at U-M, and Jacqueline Larouche, biomedical engineering Ph.D. student, and first author, discuss recent findings. The researchers note that new results suggest immune cells can become dysregulated and prevent stem cell repair.
