Food insecurity is a growing concern in America, and it is a problem that impacts varying demographics differently. The number of Americans with cardiovascular disease who are food insecure has skyrocketed over the last 20 years, according to data analyzed from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey by a Michigan Medicine team. The lack of a well-balanced diet is the most significant contributor to death from cardiovascular disease.
