Barry Rabe, professor of Public Policy at the Ford School, reflects on the 2022 election and analyzes what the results mean for the future of climate policy. With a Republican-controlled House, progressing climate policy at the federal level could prove difficult. According to Rabe, some responsibility for fighting climate change may be passed to the state level. Some states thus have already taken action, using the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).
