Building on previous research, a new study from Michigan Medicine further confirms inaccurate readings based on race when using pulse oximeters. Valeria Valbuena, M.D., of the U-M Department of Surgery, shares recent findings, highlighting that the pulse oximetry bias problem is worse than initially thought and could affect many patients.
