Screen time has a major impact on children’s eye health, and a new report from the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital National Poll on Children’s Health has found that just half of parents recognize this link. Sarah Clark, M.P.H., the Mott Poll co-director, shares insights from the recent survey, suggesting that some parents have inaccurate perceptions of activities that could affect their child’s vision and how to minimize the risks. Clark also discusses the short and long-term issues related to excessive screen time, how to use eyewear to reduce risk and the importance of regular eye checks.
