Do you have expired medical supplies in your house? According to the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital National Poll on Children’s Health at the University of Michigan Health, nearly half of parents say they have leftover prescription medication at home. Mott Poll co-director Sarah Clark, M.P.H., discusses that it’s common to keep medications for longer than expected. Still, it can be dangerous if not consciously aware of what happens with expired medication as well as how to safeguard kids from unused medicines appropriately and how to dispose of the medication.
