Could stigma be the reason patients are not being helped? Michigan Health Lab discusses the chronic pain using opioids and cannabis to help chronic pain patients more. The amount of stigma associated with both opioids and cannabis for pain relief has changed dramatically over the past decade, both influenced by the explosion of the opioid epidemic and relaxing laws around cannabis for medical and recreational use. Mark Bicket, M.D., Ph.D., discusses the new patients with chronic pain and the servey results that have been conducted.
