U-M Social Work associate professor, director of the Parenting in Context Research Lab, and lead author of the study Shawna Lee discusses parents who are homeschooling and the difficulties on navigating the time and stress that comes with educating children at home. With the coronavirus pandemic and the transition to online learning, Lee highlights the study’s research, examining parenting and factors related to this transition. She found that a majority of parents feel overwhelmed or anxious, and are facing economic hardship as many parents’ employment status changed or relied on school resources.
