University of Michigan and Georgetown University’s Center for the Assessment of Tobacco Regulation analyzed the Federal Trade Commission’s move to stop a deal between Altria, the largest cigarette company in the United States and the largest e-cigarette company, Juul Labs. Cigarette companies are increasingly in competition with e-cigarette companies. This deal would give Altria market power in the e-cigarette industry.
