U-M Institute for Social Research Data-Science for Dynamic Decision-Making Center (d3c) co-director Inbal Billie Nahum-Shani and School of Information associate professor Predrag Klasnja et al. discuss the benefits of mobile health monitoring and strategies to encourage consistent mobile health check-ins. Looking at different motivational approaches, the faculty experts tried two key strategies to increase mobile engagement: reciprocity and non-monetary reinforcement. They further explain the results and impact from their study.
