A 2-year control trial will examine whether online legal interventions can improve long-term outcomes for substance use disorders. Meghan O’Neil, a research scholar at the Institute for Social Research’s Population Studies Center at the University of Michigan, will act as the lead researcher. This intervention uses an online portal to connect litigants with respective courts – no lawyer is required. This study is expected to hold up to 800 Medicare-eligible and uninsured adults.
