New Crohn’s Disease Score Improves Monitoring Among Adults and Kids

Once regarded as the gold standard for determining gut health, the Simple Endoscopic Score for Crohn’s Disease, or SES-CD, a scoring method used during colonoscopies to measure gut health will soon get an upgrade. A new bowel scoring tool to evaluate Crohn’s disease is reliable, easy to use, and ready for clinicians to put into practice, according to a study conducted by researchers at Susan B. Meister Child Health Evaluation and Research Center at Michigan Medicine. Researchers needed to prove that the new score correlated with the SES-C, and it did that, plus more.
