New Approach Reduces EV Battery Testing Time by 75%

A team of researchers from Michigan Engineering has developed a new and faster system for testing new electric vehicle battery designs, saving time and money to create better batteries. Wei Lu, U-M professor of mechanical engineering and leader of the research team, discusses the optimization framework, noting that it could cut the time for both simulation and physical testing of new and better batteries by about 75%. The faculty expert highlights the process behind the improved framework.
