When almost any given species is faced with hardship early in life, they will continue to face hardships as an adult and will be negatively impacted by it one way or another. But what allows the gorilla to be so resilient? Researchers from the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and the University of Michigan decided to look at this question in gorillas; they weren’t sure what they would find.
