How does separation from a parent affect a child’s immune system? According to new U-M research, when a person loses a parent or a caregiver at a young age, their immune system suffers later in life. Grace Noppert, a social epidemiologist at the Survey Research Center in the U-M Institute for Social Research, explores her recent findings.
