Tom Ivacko, executive director of the U-M Ford School of Public Policy Center for Local, State, and Urban Policy, and Debra Horner, a senior program manager at the Michigan Public Policy Survey, discuss the negative assessment from local leaders concerning the direction of Michigan. Ivacko and Horner note that there is a stark difference in views regarding partisan identification as most Republicans and independents express pessimism compared to optimism from Democrats.
