An interdisciplinary effort to combine artificial intelligence with natural language processing to deliver study guides on demand resulted in a software application, “LearningClues,” which is now revolutionizing how college students absorb lectures. The application provides students with easily searchable lecture videos and contextual links to topics discussed in class. According to Perry Samson, professor of climate and space sciences and engineering at the University of Michigan and a pioneer of the software, LearningClues aims to support students whether instructors choose to participate actively or not.
