Joanne Hsu, a U-M economist and director of the Surveys of Consumers discusses how consumer sentiment continued its downward trend, declining nearly 15% in June. Hsu notes that all index components fell, but the most significant declines concerned the overall economy and consumers’ financial situations. Consumer sentiment has reached an all-time low as many are worried about inflation.
