John Clark, Michigan Medicine associate chief pharmacy officer and clinical associate professor, discusses in a Q&A the Inflation Reduction Act as it relates to drug prices and the impact on consumers. Part of the Act allows Medicare to negotiate drug prices and limit the amount of out-of-pocket drug costs for Medicare Part D patients. Clark notes the major components of the pricing package and how it will benefit consumers, any substantial changes that will bring relief, and other aspects that were not included in the package.
