Field clinics help remove healthcare barriers that individuals in rural areas face. Kristy Winters, AuD, an audiologist at Michigan Medicine, recognized a group of parents in an Amish community sought treatment for their children’s hearing loss and ear infections. She and her team worked to explore offering services to the community, especially because the standard model of care did not meet the needs of the family.
