How important is your post-surgery environment? Research by the University of Michigan found that certain hospital room features may influence outcomes after high-risk operations. Mitchell J. Mead, a health and design scholar at the University of Michigan, suggests the investigation provided evidence that patients had differential results across room design features when accounting for clinical risk and warrants further investigation for future hospital designs.
