School of Nursing Assistant Professor Sheria Robinson-Lane, Ph.D., RN, MHA, and her team found in a recent study that Black COVID-19 patients received less medical follow-up, longer delays returning to work, and higher rates of hospital readmissions. Robinson-Lane has spent her career highlighting health disparities and researching novel solutions to improve care for the most vulnerable. This article explores her career and belief that nurses can be advocates for health equity.
