Often hard to come by, fresh produce is difficult to obtain in inner-city communities. The brainchild of a University of Michigan grad with a master’s in urban planning, Sarah Clark, the Cadillac Urban Gardens provides food security for a community and leadership experience to youth volunteers. The efforts by Clark allowed the Cadillac Urban Gardens to become a model for sustainable gardening practices as residents grow and harvest produce within walking distance of their homes.
