Early-onset scoliosis can be dangerous to a child’s heart and lung function as it gets worse. Adolescents with the condition usually receive a single spinal fusion but others may receive growth-friendly survey, with expandable rods. A new study from Michigan Medicine found that children who get the growth-friendly surgery may face more complications and surgeries.
