Michigan Medicine presents “First-Ever Hernia Repair On A Chimpanzee”. A Detroit Zoo staff member realized that one of the newborn chimps was not being picked up by his mother. They later found out that the chimp needed a hernia repair and worked with U-M Health’s C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital to help him recover.
