Each day, we come into contact with tens of thousands of chemicals, and we don’t yet know how our bodies might be affected by these exposures. A new study, co-authored by John Meeker, a professor at the U-M School of Public Health, suggests that pregnant women’s exposure to chemicals has increased considerably in the last decade. The faculty expert explores the importance of the study and some of the main findings, highlighting that Hispanic women and other women of color, and those of lower socioeconomic status and education had higher concentrations of multiple pesticides and parabens.
