Join the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) as they continue their Thursday Morning Lecture Series “Will Democracy Survive?” This lecture titled “The Four Threats to American Democracy: Should We Be Worried?” will focus on the historical analysis of the threats revealed, how they illuminate the events of January 6, 2021, and the continued denial of the 2020 election results by many Americans, and the implications for the future of democracy. This discussion features Suzanne Mettler, a John L. Senior Professor of American Institutions in the Department of Government at Cornell University and published author; her most recent work is Four Threats: The Recurring Crises of American Democracy.

The lecture series is hybrid, taking place virtually over Zoom and in person in the Towsley Auditorium on the campus of Washtenaw Community College (4800 E Huron River Dr. Ann Arbor, MI 48105). OLLI offers a variety of pricing options ranging from day passes to entire lecture series, and scholarships are available for membership and all programs.

The Alumni Association of the University of Michigan is proud to sponsor this lecture series.
