It’s been seven years since the U.S. opioid crisis was declared an epidemic, but the issue has been persisting for much longer. Welcome to Curtis’ America. Inheritance follows young Curtis, 12, growing up in Appalachia while every adult in his family – parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins – battles addiction. For the kickoff Real World Perspectives on Poverty Solutions Speaker Series event,  Inheritance filmmakers Amy Toensing and Matt Moyer explore the underlying causes of the opioid epidemic in America.

This event is free and open to the public. Attend in person or stream virtually – no registration is required.
