Constipation is a symptom often related to a different health problem. It is common in all ages and populations throughout the United States. Michigan Medicine professor, William Chey, MD, and his colleague, Michigan Medicine professor Shanti Eswaran, MD, teamed up with Samuel Chey, his son and clinical research manager, to research several fruits as effective therapies for chronic constipation. They looked at three natural therapies: psyllium, prunes and kiwifruit.
