The flow of college graduates across states and metro areas isn’t uniform. Kevin Stange, education ecomonist and associate professor of public policy, suggests institutions can propel upward economic mobility by connecting students to robust labor markets across the country. Additionally, their work illustrates the importance of considering migration patterns when estimating the social return on public investment in higher education.
