Researchers are looking into the relationship between fat tissue that contributes to metabolic disease. They have used obesity and type 2 diabetes to gather more information. Lindsey Muir, PhD, research assistant professor with the Department of Computational Medicine and Bionformatics, and teams in research labs of Robert O’Rourke, MD, and Carey Lumeng, MD, PhD, studied how immune cell types in fat may change.
