About 1.7 million Americans have been treated for severe cases of COVID-19. Insurance companies and government programs were responsible for covering the costs patients owed. However, a new study found that many people over 65 who were hospitalized for COVID-19 may owe around a thousand dollars after they are discharged from the hospital due to copays, deductible and co-insurance.
