As Health Problems Stack Up, So Do Serious Financial Woes

A study from the University of Michigan suggests that the odds of having unpaid debts, poor credit scores, and bankruptcy are higher for those with more chronic conditions. People with seven or more common long-term conditions had three to four times the risk of each of these financial calamities compared with those without chronic diseases. The findings also suggest that the condition doesn’t need to be rare for these results to be valid.
