The University of Michigan School of Social Work’s ENGAGE presents “Appropriating Food: Food Justice is Racial Justice”. Food deserts disproportionately impact Black and Brown communities. they have been created due to historic redlining and discriminatory policies. These communities do not have access to grocery stores that sell healthy, nutritional food.
